Thinking back over the past year, I am struck by how fortunate I am for the incredible new business connections formed in 2019. Truly, I am humbled by the many things I have to be grateful for. I have worked with and am working with people and companies of remarkable caliber. It’s a privilege to assist you.

For this I credit one thing – the exponential power of gratitude. As my friend Lee Brower reminded me when we met earlier this year in Park City, Utah, gratitude leads to new opportunities, creativity and cooperation.

Nothing contributes more to a positive environment than being thankful for what you have. I always find myself attracted to grateful people. Negative emotions disappear when you are with these types of people and opportunity and creativity flourish. These people encourage you to be a better person yourself.

As I write this, James Taylor is playing on the radio. He is singing a song he wrote in 1965 for his then-girlfriend. I cranked up the volume and was reminded of how grateful I am for my family and power that they have to remind me of the good times that I know.

Something in the way she moves

There’s something in the way she moves

Or looks my way, or calls my name

That seems to leave this troubled world behind

If I’m feeling down and blue

Or troubled by some foolish game

She always seems to make me change my mind

And I feel fine anytime she’s around me now

She’s around me now

Almost all the time

And if I’m well you can tell she’s been with me now

She’s been with me now quite a long, long time

And I feel fine

Hear James Taylor sing the entire song on The Early Show in 2009.
